Gigi Rooftop is a buzzing restaurant and bar located on the 6th floor of the Gorgeous George Hotel. The bar has everything from signature cocktails, to age-old classics, both being meticulously crafted by their in-house mixologists. The restaurant serves a take on modern classics, but with a focus on seasonality and sustainability, think casual cuisine but with a twist! They believe knowing where our food comes from is as important as the food itself, with attention being placed on local, ethically-sourced produce from artisanal cheese, pasture-reared beef to fully-traceable and line-caught fish. The vibe is infectious, join for lunch, stay for dinner, with live music and DJ’s almost every day of the week. GiGi Rooftop is a living room for the neighbourhood and you’re invited.

    The place is aesthetically pleasing and the food unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations as it was salty but one of the waiters generously asked to remake order but we needed to go somewhere so they gave us a complementary dessert

    Was highly recommended but for a first time experience my friends & I did NOT enjoy our time there.I booked a table for 3 outside, as soon as we were seated,I immediately requested for a large sparkling water, which took 15min if not more to be brought out.Please note,the restaurant itself wasn’t packed or necessarily busy,therefore there was no reason for drinks that aren’t made from scratch to delay.Waiter took our food order & the food was great,my ribeye was done perfectly to my liking(medium-rare).The waiter came to clear my friends(two gentlemen) plates, the one thing we all didn’t find polite was him clearing while I(a lady) was still eating.Perhaps it’s not a rule at the establishment,but these small things makes a difference. Once I was done eating, it took our waiter half an hour (I wish I was exaggerating) to come and clear my plate, I had it stacked up with a side place & the pouring dish for sauce that came with the steak yet nobody cleared it.Teamwork clearly lacks in the establishment because other waiters were up and down & weren’t bothered by seeing the plates there.At some point he offered us drinks and since it was few minutes till happy hour we said we’d rather wait to order.Our waiter never returned,we called a different gentleman to get our drinks order & after 10 minutes a different waiter came to get drinks order again & introduced herself as our new waiter,though things were going left with our 1st waiter,informing us that his shift is over is standard(that way we could’ve settled the bill with him)so he could get his tip.Once again our drinks were taking long, I went to the bathroom & on my way found staff gathered at the bar on their cellphones.Eventually someone informed us about a problem with the machine in the bar, when the drinks arrived,I immediately asked for a side plate & spoon cause of too much ice(they never came).Couldn’t find the waiter & had to settle the bill at the bar with a different waiter. What a horrendous experience.

    I loved the view and aesthetic of the place the food was delicious will definitely visit again service was great food arrived in minutes place was a bit hot needs more air-cons because the heat can become a problem in hotter days overall everything was great
