Located on the biodynamic Rozendal Farm and Vinagrier in Stellenbosch, Good to Gather is a convivial, intimate restaurant owned by husband-and-wife duo Luke Grant and Jess Shepherd. In summer, sit outside in the gorgeous courtyard under the oak trees, in colder months the dining takes place in the Vinegar Tasting Room warmed by a wood burning stove, with views of the cellar filled with the farms botanical infused red wine vinegars. The three course farm to table menu changes weekly, and incorporates seasonal ingredients locally sourced from small-scale farmers.

    As always Jess outdid herself and we had an amazing 3 courses. Appetisers of foccacia with whipped ricotta and olives, followed by tomato gallete with green salad. The main course of slow cooked lamb neck with barley risotto and green beans was outstanding. I had the chocolate cremeux for pudding but the other option of pannacotta looked equally amazing. Service was great as always. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

    A beautiful rustic setting and the food was absolutely delicious from starters to the tenderest of lamb and then to divine desserts. The courses were explained and were so interesting and the staff were delightful. So delighted we went ; what a special day.

    As always, excellent food, lovely setting, great service and kind & attentive vibes. I love the “unfussyness” of it all, it’s simply wonderful seasonal “cook-from-the-heart” food from such a talented chef, so worth the wait.

    As always, heavenly food, warm and friendly service and the most fabulous way to spend a Sunday lunch! We waited 4 months for this booking but it was well worth the wait!
