The Grill Jichana boasts flame-grilled premium cuts from the best local producers seasoned, infused and flavoured with tastes of the African East Coast spice route.

Dishes are created with flair, flavoured with fragrant cassia, cardamom, turmeric and other heady spices and prepared using the freshest produce. These robustly flavoursome spices complement the grilling of meat, fish and chicken creating the essence of ‘eating good’ or jichana in Swahili slang.

    Two weeks ago we stayed at the Maharani hotel and dined with you. We enjoyed it so much we celebrated our 7th and my sisters 24th wedding anniversary last Saturday. Everything is just perfect, except your toilets they don't smell clean at all. Grill Gichana is Durbans little hidden gem

    Firstly, thank you Vusi for wonderful service! My wife and I ate here last night for the first time and we definately will be back. Service was good, food was awesome and reasonably priced. The calamary starter was possibly the calamary I've ever had. My wife had the chicken livers, which were okay but not great. For mains we had the prime rib and lamb chops, which were both amazing, perfectly grilled. I didnt have dessert, my wife had the berry sobert, which was good but not amazing. Like I said earler, service was on point and food served promptly. Definitely good value for money.

    An amazing experience great staff , just one problem , too many times they checked in on us , so like if we having a conversation atleast two people will walk in and check in, they dont wait and we have to stop talking to see what the want to do or take away .
