It takes years to build a Legacy. Even Decades. Or sometimes Centuries.

Groot Constantia’s is testimony of how one man’s love for wine established South Africa’s first wine farm in 1685. Our wines are from rich African soil, crafted to perfection. Groot Constantia memories are part of literature and heritage and embodies the timeless endeavour to perfection. Our heritage stands for growth, life and beauty. It is alive and vibrant, like the vineyards we hold dear. It is in our hearts.

Just an all round awful experience plus the chocolate pairing option was disappointing. Tasted like soap…

We came as part of our anniversary celebrations to do a wine tasting and guided cellar tour. Our guide, Wandile, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and made sure we were always comfortable and taken care of throughout the tasting.

Dear Groot Constantia staff, dear Crystal & Sasha, Thank you for a most marvellous experience yesterday. From booking the wine & chocolate pairing, through to the actual wine tasting and lunch at Simon's, we were thoroughly impressed and overwhelmed by the beauty of Constantia, the service and knowledge of staff, not to mention the outstanding wines you produce. A fantastic experience through & through. We will be back next week. Thank you so much for a memorable day. Best regards Chantal Denzler-Brade

To start with: the wines we tasted were excellent. Even better was Bradley, who served our chosen wines and offered interesting and relevant background. He clearly enjoyed engaging with customers and was absolutely brilliant. On the downside the ambience was disappointing and not worthy of a winery of that reputation. The outdoor wine tasting area in the visitor centre was next to - or better part of - a parking lot with cars in and out and to top it off tractors passing next to our table in 10 meters distance every 2-3 minutes. Tables and chairs rather uninviting.
