Our charming space is wonderful for all types of smaller celebrations such as kids birthday parties or intimate weddings. The venue is multi-purpose with a charming indoor area that opens out onto a veranda that flows into the garden. Find your happiness where the sun shines under the trees, or experience the comfort of our farmhouse-style indoor setup. Our Ground Café is a perfect pit-stop during or after your cycle through the Cradle for a bit of sustenance. Enjoy freshly created meals by our chefs or simply select items from our deli table.

Open: Wednesday – Sunday | Kitchen opens at 8 am – 3 pm | Cafe & Deli closes at 4 pm.

    Dineplan and Ground Cafe need to communicate. The team were not ready for our reservation of 8 seated in the garden. Food was phenomenal. Cold under the trees...........maybe consider heaters!

    The venue is exquisite and a great place to go to for a day out away from Joburg. The hikes are well signed and the restaurant is in a relaxing and beautiful setting. It was extremely busy on the weekend and we waited almost two and a half hours to get our food unfortunately. The items ordered were simple and did not require a lot of prep time. Be prepared for a long wait as I dont think the kitchen can cope with such large volumes of tables/traffic. If you are going on a short hike, perhaps consider placing your food order first as it will be ready by the time you get back.

    Firstly, there is a very limited range for a vegetarian. I ordered a falafel wrap, it comes deconstructed and very beautifully plated. The eating is however very disappointing. The the wrap is super dry, you cant even cut it with a knife. The falafel is also very dry and a chunky texture. I could not salvage the experience even with a generous swoosh of balsamic vinegar. I would really love to taste this dish without the dryness. Maybe a generous offer of the Hummus and Tzatziki would have helped because it was really a stingy offering. But the presentation and the burnt taste of the wrap were the only highlights about the food. An improved range of hot beverages would also be great, one herbal tea on the list would be really appreciated.
