    We were a group of 8 needing to meet for discussions and to eat and drink well. We were superbly looked after. The food and service of this restaurant is always of a high standard whether one is lunching alone or in a large group. I post this review as someone who hardly ever gives reviews – but praise where praise is due. Thank you most sincerely. Charles

    The food was absolutely delicious, especially the mushroom pie starter and the pork belly. But portions, especially on mains are ridiculously small for the price. Especially the line fish. I must say - I've been to Grub & Vine and Culture Wine Bar a few times...and every single time they did not have the bottle of wine we ordered. Then the sommelier comes with a suggested bottle... explain how delicious it is, and then the price is >50% expensive than the one we ordered. I feel like it is a sales trick, since it happens every time. We ordered a bottle of R1200, and the recommended one came in at R1900. Which is a bit wild. In the future if you recommend something in the price range of the original bottle, we would actually end up ordering 2 bottles, and you get R2400... not the R1900 that we sip sip because it is to "special". I honestly think the food is delicious, but we did leave feeling hungry. This might be the reason why the restaurant was completely empty on a First Thursdays evening?

    We visited Grub & Vine Bree Str for an anniversary dinner and it was the ideal location. The venue is intimate and cosy, the food was fabulous and the price was very competitive compared to similar offerings elsewhere. Our waiter Sam was really wonderful, kind, friendly and helpful. Overall would highly recommend.
