Sunday Lunch 7 Dec, group of 9. We ordered a wide range of dishes from the "Spring a la Carte menu". Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, with the Grand Finale of the Chocolate Fondant dessert an absolute hit. Location is stunning, appreciably quiet, with very well arranged seating & tables discretely separated from other large tables. Some room for improvement would be offering water/ ice especially for those who had to "wait a while" because they didn't order starters.

Wonderful venue, well looked after by Allen. Good food and decent value. Found the wine prices to be over the top, though

The food was very good, we really enjoyed the meal and the ambiance. The service, however, needed attention; it was slow and inattentive. We were left without cutlery and small plates onto which we could put our food, on multiple occasions.

The ambience is amazing, the rest unfortunately is not. It might have been a bad day in the kitchen but ... - The food generally is messy and overloaded with sauces/seasoning (my tuna tartare was covered in mayo) - we waited 1 h and 20 minutes between antipasti and main course - I had asked a dairy free fish plate (fish + calamari + chorizo) they removed everything else from the dish (calamari and chorizo leaving me with potatoes and carrots covered in mayo) and still sent me 4 (four!) times a plate with a dairy sauce in it. I ended up not eating it because I couldn’t trust it (I’m lactose intolerant) I understand they might have been confused by another person in the table asking for the same fish plate without chorizo which they invariably put in her plate. - they have very bad signal so we were stuck for another half an hour trying to pay. They did remove the wine from our bill, which was highly appreciated. However, I find that good communication on what’s happening (if there is something wrong in the kitchen) should be mandatory instead of saying “your plate is being plated now”, still making the table wait for another 30 minutes.
