Gusto Urban Italian Restaurant is located in Century City, Cape Town – an
Italian inspired restaurant with a wood-fired oven and views over Ratanga Park and
Canal.
Infused with contemporary and urban influences, it has a far more stylish and trendy
feel than your traditional trattoria or pizzeria. Gusto includes to-go and deli offerings,
true Italian style al fresco dining on the piazza, and an extensive wine list with both
local and Italian favourites - curated by the collaboration of a South African
sommelier and Italian chef, ensuring the wine and food complement each other and
remain true to the Urban Italian inspiration of Gusto.

    The most amazing pasta I've ever tasted. Very filling and delicious. Aesthetics super stunning. It's an experience I will highly recommend. Will be visiting again soon

    I found the restaurant to be extremely noisy, I am aware its Friday night after pay day, and the restaurant was fully booked, so probably nothing they could do about it, but it was loud, and then they also decided to have live music on top of that. Struggled to hear my guests at my table. The food was very enjoyable, but our waiter brought us wrong drinks while we waited for other guests to arrive, and then two bottles of warm white wine which I did not accept and then 'found' a chilled bottle. Our booking was for 7.30pm and during our main course around 9.15pm we we rushed to finish and to order our desert if we wanted any because the kitchen closes at 9.30pm. Did not appreciate that to be honest. Had some great Dom Pedro's and was then told by our waiter his 'shift was finishing'... So essentially abandoning a table he was serving, was someone else's shift starting? When I was a waiter for many years you stood there until the table decides to leave. I dont know, maybe the rules have changed. Will be back but not on a friday night and not for dinner, lunch probably a better idea.

Fridays can certainly be lively, and while we aim to create an energetic atmosphere, it should never come at the expense of your ability to comfortably enjoy your time and conversation. Your comments regarding the noise levels and live music are completely valid, and we will take this into consideration as we manage the balance between ambiance and guest comfort. I’m also very concerned to hear about the service inconsistencies you experienced—from the incorrect drinks and warm wine, to feeling rushed during your main course, and the lack of proper handover when your waiter’s shift ended. This is not the standard we expect from our team. Regardless of shift changes or kitchen closing times, guests should never feel pressured or unattended, and I will be addressing this directly with the team to ensure better communication, planning, and ownership of tables throughout service. Your perspective, especially with your own background in hospitality, is both understood and appreciated. The fundamentals of good service should always remain consistent.     I feel like the service could’ve been more “attentive” im greatful for the chef that made the birthday dessert plate…the chocolate used was very cheap though…
