Inspired by The Oyster Boxs original, architecture with four magnificent tole and ceramic chandeliers purchased from the Savoy Hotel in London, natural sunlight and towering Palms, The Palm Court is the venue for the legendary High Tea each afternoon. Its also a favourite meeting spot for casual dining.

High Tea is a lengthy, leisurely affair with live piano music providing a welcome addition to the occasion. All pastries and baked goods are prepared on the property by our wonderful pastry team. The high tea table is a visual and taste spectacle of sumptuous treats, with everything from freshly baked scones, pastries, quiches and cakes, to finger sandwiches and savouries.

The only negative was the waitress didn’t notify us that cappuccinos and soft drinks are not included in the high tea price, we were shocked with a bill of R600 for 5 cappuccinos and one coke!

Service from Sizwe was impeccable. Attentive without being obtrusive. I enjoyed the prawn cocktail on the savoury section and the scones in the sweet section. I suggest placing the lamb sliders on a warmer since it was cold and the lamb fat hardened which made it a bit difficult to enjoy. Sushi bar could use a complete overhaul (do it well or not at all! I think crab stick sushi is low effort and would prefer to see more tuna and salmon options). There was ample food, and something for every palette. Overall I'd recommend this experience.
