    Incredibly tasty food, miniscule portion sizes though (we shared a full meal from sushi box afterwards as we were still hungry) at a not inexpensive price point. I take full responsibility for not researching the quantity of each serving beforehand, I'd say it's more of a tasting menu than a meal - but at meal prices. Pleasant waitress, but she took long to present each course and our last course (dessert) had risotto served at the same time (which was part of the previous course).

    Some dishes needs more consideration from a flavor perspective, the appetizers were excellent yet the black rice risotto, duck croquette, fried milk and chilly beef were not on par however it may just be my personal preference all in all enjoyed the outing and happy they could accommodate the little one on such short notice

    I recently had the pleasure of dining at HIRO Izakaya for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, and the warm, inviting ambiance made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. The value for money is exceptional, with each dish being crafted to perfection. I’m so grateful to the Schillings for the fantastic recommendation — it was truly spot-on! Without a doubt, I will be returning soon to explore more of their incredible menu.

    This time, a friend accompanied us. She had returned from England the day before and asked me about a suitable place for a reunion with good food. HIRO was my recommendation, and she was just as enthusiastic about the food as we were. I've taken several friends to HIRO now, and they all raved about the food and service!

    Once again, we had the most enjoyable evening food experience. This time was with another couple, and we were all more than satisfied with the food, wine, service and ambiance to the point that we were the last to leave. We opted for the August 8 plate sharing experience @R700 and enjoyed the selection discussion from the varied menu. Definitely worth another visit and recommending to friends.
