Cheyne Morrisby & Danielle Oosthuizen open the doors of Hiro Izakaya. Hiro is a place of food, drink & connectivity situated on the beautiful Constantia Uitsig Farm.

Hiro showcases modern Japanese cuisine designed for tasting in a unique space that is synonymous to Cheyne & Danielle. Added to the Hiro experience Cheyne & Danielle have created a 6 seater experiential chefs table decorated with Danielle’s artwork.

    Coudn't visit Hiro for three month ( private reasons), but missed Hiro deeply. And this time we experienced the same quality, good service, beautiful ambience and specially to mention the outstanding tastes. One of our favourite Restaurants in town. see you next week. Klaus and Cornelia

    The food took long and we had a table seated after us who got their food before ours. When the food came it wasn't that great and not worth the price unfortunately... The restaurant was half set up so there was table settings on some and not the others. Not sure if it was the manager/owner but he only went to 1 table which seemed to be his priority and the rest of the tables were irrelevant. So many chefs in the kitchen but 1 standing on their phone. Was quite disappointed as I expected more after reviewing all the good reviews

    Hi Tanya, Thank you for your feedback, yet we have discussed this with you on another social platform where you also presented us with your feedback and was under the impression that it was resolved. Cheyne, had a very important meeting and therefor spent time at the said table you are referring to and our staff is more than capable to take care of you in the best possible way. They are excellent. I have checked again, and the waiting time for you meal wasn't long at all, surprised you didnt enjoy your meal where you could have mentioned it at that point and brought it to either my or Cheynes' attention as it could have been dealt with in a very different way which is constructive instead of destructive. We always welcome feedback from guests, as your experience is priority. Strange you mentioned seeing the chefs in the kitchen yet not saying anything about your meal. They are also allowed to be on their phone, especially when perhaps orders have to be placed etc which is pretty standard in a restaurant. The reason some tables weren't set, some of our staff were late due to taxi violence and we had to arrange alternative safe transport for them. So we deeply apologise if there was a table or two not set up. There is so much more I want to say, but I dont feel I need to explain myself any further. Take care Danielle
