Kobus Botha Back in Saldanha!
Another Season – Another Adventure

I can’t wait to cook for you again in beautiful Saldanha Bay. Our pop-up restaurant will reopen from December 7th. Seafood menu with Adi Badenhorst's delicious wines and sherries at R 1650 per person.

APERITIF
Starts at 1.30pm - lunch continues throughout the afternoon. Guests will be seated together at a communal table regardless of the size of their booked party. Kids are welcome. They'll sit at kid's tables spread around the long table. They love playing on the beach and running around - but they are under the care of their parents. There will be fires burning and a sea. No special kid's menu, they eat real, delicious food and drink water. Any special dietary food and drinks for them you can bring along in nice looking containers.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
All the food is from the ocean. Fish dishes do not contain shellfish, and vice versa.

MAKE IT A STAY
Our friends at the Saldanha Bay Hotel, right next door, offer a special rate for our guests.
Also, last year, many groups arrived by minibus — after all, our Adi Badenhorst wines are excellent, and it is the festive season!

The Kobus Botha Saldanha Seafood Season is nothing short of exceptional and an absolute celebration of everything that makes West Coast seafood so special. From the moment you arrive, it feels like stepping into a treasured local tradition with a French twist rather than just a dining experience. The seafood is outstandingly fresh, beautifully prepared and bursting with authentic coastal flavour. Every dish reflects deep respect for quality ingredients and a genuine passion for showcasing Saldanha’s seafood heritage. Simple, honest cooking is elevated to something truly memorable, allowing the natural flavours of the sea to shine in the most delicious way. It is more than just a meal—it’s a heartfelt celebration of community, culture and coastal living (also remarkably informative). A must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional seafood, quality wine and an experience that leaves you smiling long after the last bite. Highly recommended! Thank you Kobus and team!

The experience overall is OK but the food was totally overrated. It took 3 hours before we ate anything substantial. The mussels were undercooked and inedible, and the fish was so dry I couldn’t eat it. I’m not sure what the exorbitant fee covers because most ingredients are “foraged” aka free (seaweed, oysters, mussels, sea snails..). A plain boiled octopus was served which our whole table couldn’t eat. Saving grace is the location and AA Badenhorst wines. Very disappointed as the concept has serious potential.
