Charming, homely and spoilt for choice! Lovely la Belle serves bistro and bakery classics from breakfast through to dinner – at the Alphen, Constantia, in our rustic, restored Cape farmhouse.

la Belle bistro and bakery is a charming culinary haven combining the warm ambiance of a traditional bistro with the delightful aromas of a freshly baked pastry shop. The perfect year-round eating and meeting place for locals and tourists alike, choose from cosy indoor dining by the fireplace in winter or al fresco eating under the trees in Constantia.

    Our meal was good, as usual but an absurdly small portion of veggies for an increased price. We complained and we were given more broccoli. At 22.20 the manager, Haley asked us to leave. As regulars at La Belle we were a bit gobsmacked. She should not be in the service industry- far too surly and negative! Her presence is unwelcoming. And it’s the second complaint I’ve written about her here. Gone are the days of lovely managers like Sean, Kelly, Lizanne and Craig and Wendy. Please hire more appropriate managers- it makes a huge difference!
