Set in a converted house in central Franschhoek, the atmosphere at Le Bon Vivant is homely and relaxed, while reminiscent of contemporary French restaurants. The glass wall allows you to see Pierre Hendriks and his team at work. Tables are also available in the shaded garden next to the restaurant for lunch and dinner on warm summer evenings.

    Le Bon Vivant is simply the best. We have been going there for 12 years and it is always the highlight of our trip to South Africa. Pierre Hendricks is a sublime chef and his teasing of your taste buds exhilarating! Simply the best.

    We really enjoyed our evening. The food was good, as was the wine, and service was both friendly and professional. All at a reasonable price.

    We’ve been coming here for over 20 years and this was by far the worst so far , The Blesbok loin was not good.and the snapper was slightly overcooked, Not up to Le Bon Vivant’s usually high standards.

    Very busy. The lamb was excellent but the crayfish was tasteless & was taken off the bill. My view was a beige wall …. Food presentation was beautiful
