Set in a converted house in central Franschhoek, the atmosphere at Le Bon Vivant is homely and relaxed, while reminiscent of contemporary French restaurants. The glass wall allows you to see Pierre Hendriks and his team at work. Tables are also available in the shaded garden next to the restaurant for lunch and dinner on warm summer evenings.

    we have always enjoyed first class food at Bon Vivant but this time both our starters were terrible! the scallops were almost raw, and absolutely tasteless. The three oysters were topped with a sauce that was also extremely disappointing. It was just like a mixture of mayo and ketchup. The main course was better. We wondered why only two other couples were dining that night. Has Bon Vivant gone rapidly downhill, we wonder. i would hesitate before going back, yet it used to be top notch. What a shame.

    Everything great except we couldn’t pay by credit card as the restaurant’s machine would not accept our credit card. We used the same credit card today elsewhere without any problems
