    Extremely disappointing experience. We made a reservation for Valentine’s Day with no prior communication that the restaurant would be operating on a mandatory set menu only. This was not mentioned during booking, nor was it clearly communicated beforehand. Only after being seated were we informed that the only option available was a fixed set menu at R950 per person. No alternative ordering options. No transparency upfront. Nothing. Springing a R950 per person compulsory menu on guests after they’ve already arrived is unacceptable. Pricing like that requires clear communication in advance so guests can make an informed decision. What made the situation worse was the nonchalant attitude from staff when we raised the concern. There was no attempt to acknowledge the inconvenience or offer any reasonable explanation. Just a casual shrug, as if this were completely normal. We chose to leave. For a restaurant positioning itself as upscale, this was handled poorly and felt disorganised at best and misleading at worst. Transparency matters, especially at that price point. Would not recommend based on this experience.

Our R950 set menu for food and vintage wines pairing were widely advertised across our Instagram (@levin_rosebank) and TikTok (@levin_winebar) platforms, as well as on our Dineplan booking page. While we regret that this information was missed during your booking, we are proud that the evening was a success for our other guests who enjoyed the curated experience. We will certainly look into your feedback regarding our staff's interaction to ensure every guest feels heard, regardless of the situation.

    Le Vin in Rosebank is a true hidden gem. Grown and sexy ambience, great music, excellent wine, and attentive service. We had such a good time.
