The chic Double Tree by Hilton Cape Town Upper Eastside Hotel - Liberty's Restaurant offers an extensive a la carte menu and all-day dining in a discreetly glamorous atmosphere. Having spent 15 years honing his culinary talents across Europe and South Africa, executive chef Simon Kemp has made the Liberty's kitchen his creative home. Experimenting with a fusion-style menu, Simon is also a master at the traditional: his handmade burgers are legendary.

Should you have specific dietary requirements, please do let us know – with advance warning, Simon can ensure that there is something that meets these requirements. Simon is also available to discuss your catering requirements for business conferencing or special events held at DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town Eastside, and will also prepare a tailormade menu for guests wanting to entertain small groups in the loft suites.

    Parking was easy. Big tick. The service by our waitress was outstanding, she was attentive but not intrusive, a sense of humour and very efficient. Thank you, Monique. Our food was very good. The starter we had - I would certainly go back for. Mains had excellent flavours and very enjoyable. No space for dessert but we were brought a chocolate chip, nut and coconut cookie. Oh my word, I would purchase a bag of those. Only slight hiccup was that my selection of wine was not available, and I had to opt for a Chenin Blanc but still good. The ambience let this experience down. very hotel like, which of course it is but a little stiff. I believe they are going through a revamp so we will definitely go back when revamp overall, a lovely experience.

    Oh, we absolutely loved the dinner and easter breakfast brunch. We were greeted with a warm welcome on both occasions. The waiter was attentive and catered for our every need. The popping and refreshing colors of foods and deserts that were served just put a new spin on what freshness looks like. Thank you once again Liberty's Restaurant and staff, especially the Hotel Manager on duty Lindsay for a splendid and enjoyable experience. We definitely recommend you book in advance for their upcoming Christmas event! You will not be disappointed. Marc and Candice Bosch

    An unexpected treat. The food was exceptional. Tempura prawn were large and delicious. The lamb chops were the best I have had in South Africa.
