Situated on the beautiful Lourensford Wine Estate at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains in Somerset West, The Millhouse Kitchen offers a beautiful venue to enjoy a meal or celebrate a special event.

Owner Rob Smailes and Chef Gustaaf Boshoff's aim is to create a neighbourhood feel where guests can relax while enjoying a meal together. Our menus are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and children are always welcome..

    We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our waiter was thoughtful, engaging and attentive and the food first class. The beautiful setting provided the perfect backdrop to an exceptional experience!

    Amazing breakfast outside, with kids playing in the beautiful playground. This is one of my favourite places in the world.

    We had a reservation for 7 people on the Aviary Deck for 13h00 on Sunday 14 April 2024. The drinks and some starter plates arrived soon enough, but then we had to wait for an hour and 20 minutes after ordering for the main courses to arrive at our table. This is a large restaurant which caters for many patrons but a wait of this duration is unacceptable. One steak was somewhat under-cooked and the ravioli appeared to have been re-heated before serving. The rest of the meals were fine, although two members of our party has mildly upset stomachs some time after the meal. Two separate floor managers came to apologize for the long delay in the kitchen, but this experience spoiled our afternoon to a degree where I cannot recommend the restaurant until they solve their problems in the kitchen. The location and ambience were excellent, just a pity that it was all spoiled by a lack of service.

    Stanley,our waiter was phenomenal. Great personality,friendly,helped with food and wine choices,entertaining, got rid of wasps problem. Fantastic.
