A mere 3km’s from the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve, this country gem is a quick turn off Kromdraai Road. Specialising in fresh, organic, homegrown fruits and vegetables, Molitva’s mouthwatering food menu will charm any tastebuds. The menu is largely centered around a range of mezze and tapas styled foods from various Mediterranean cuisines, but also offers those that prefer something a little more substantial; homemade pasta’s, an array of salads, a selection of grills and a variety of appetizing burgers.

Head chef and part owner, Milan Cerimaj describes Molitva’s cuisine as “Orthodox Mediterranean” with subtle twists and adaptations.

Surrounded by the green, lush countryside and mountainous views, this restaurant and pub is the perfect setting for a day out with the family, a romantic date or a time to kick back and relax with friends.

As a person who lives in Jhb, I appreciate little time outs every now and then, and Molitva is just that without breaking the bank. Literally feels like your are on a get away. With a decent selection of food, a child friendly restaurant, with a nice compliment of staff and some good drinks, I always enjoy going there

We decided to take a drive out of the hustle and bustle of Jozi for some nature. Overall, I would rate the experience not worth the drive. The staff all seemed very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Our waitress, Ameena was super friendly, but so, so slow :-( she sat us down and I swear she forgot about us. Came back 10 min later for drinks order, 5 minutes later to bring menu on boards, came back 5 minutes later to ask us to take pics of the menu. Disappeared, came back 10 minutes later to take our food orders, please note that drinks have not arrived at this point. So ja, super friendly slow waitress. The only thing that came super-fast was the bill and she stood there waiting for us to pay. I would rate the food 3/5, it was too oily for our liking, lots and lots of olive oil. We had different pasta dishes. All in all, I would rate the overall experience 5/10. Also won't be going back.

Love the dips and the bread is delicious and the perfect match. Wonderful outside area which really sets the scene for that Mediterranean feel

I did not appreciate being told what to eat. I was told it was too hot to order the spaghetti bolognaise which came highly recommended. When I insisted that was what I wanted, the waitress had an attitude change of note. The dish came very salty. When I asked about desert, I was told there was only baked cheesecake as they don't do deserts. Fair enough. My wife and I felt the experience was ruined by the attitude that what we chose was wrong. She didn't make a recommendation, she read the menu which I am quite comfortable doing on my own at age 57! Pity as the venue came highly recommended by someone who also had the pasta.

Excellent hospitality, timely service and delicious food. Would be nice to have chocolate cake back on the menu, lose the brownie.
