Named after two streets in New York City, Mulberry & Prince is the brainchild of foodie friends and co-owners, Cornel Mostert and Cynthia Rivera, who met whilst studying at The Culinary Institute of America. The perfect fusion of South African and American, Cynthia grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and Cornel was born and bred in the Mother City. The pair's combined experience stretches to some of the world's top international kitchens including Noma in Copenhagen, Alinea in Chicago and The Modern in New York City. "Everything from the food, to the decor and music thats playing reflects both of our personalities, all coming together in an intriguing space," says Cornel Mostert, co-owner and chef.

Service was 5/5! We received everything in great time. There was a heater so it was nice and toasty on a rainy winter day! We'll be back

We visited Mulberry & Prince to celebrate a special birthday and, unfortunately, left feeling underwhelmed. While the food was fine, it was undeniably overpriced for what you receive, lacking the wow factor you’d expect at this price point. Service from our waiter was warm and attentive, which we genuinely appreciated and which helped elevate the experience somewhat. However, the front-of-house service left a lasting negative impression. Due to heavy Cape Town rain and a major stadium event, our group was delayed. The first guest did arrive within the 20 minute grace period, but there was no contact number available on Dineplan or the restaurant’s website to notify them of the delay. When we did arrive, we were met with a surprisingly unfriendly and rigid reception. The host’s tone when reminding us of the dining time limit felt unnecessarily hostile, especially considering the context. At a restaurant positioned in this calibre, you expect a far more gracious and accommodating approach. Sadly, the combination of mediocre value and poor front-of-house experience overshadowed what should have been a memorable brunch.

I will always recommend Mulberry and Prince. The food is always amazing and the service is impeccable. It is always a good place to share a meal with family and friends.
