Step into the world of Nobu with acclaimed global chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s only outpost in southern Africa.

Nobu Cape Town brings classic Japanese cuisine with a Peruvian twist in a sophisticated space which seamlessly blends Japanese wa with the spirit of Ubuntu. Descend the stairs and be welcomed by cinematic views of Table Mountain into the main dining room anchored by handwoven tapestries by local artist, Julia Pepler Swanepoel.

To the left of the staircase, Nobu Bar stretches into an alluring intimate speakeasy-like enclave ideal for pre and post dinner cocktails crafted by our expert mixologists.

    We had an exceptional evening at Nobu. We chose the menu option where the waitress curates the meal. Our waitress was Nobuhle, she was such a delight. So friendly and hospitable and the food she selected was outstanding. We cannot fault a single choice of meal. We will be coming back next time we are in Cape Town and will be requesting Nobuhle. A truly superb evening.

    Food was excellent. The miso black cod and jalapeño yellowtail are consistently excellent. Service was also outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

    We where 4 guests and we order 4 different principal dishes + 1 menu to share. We specify to bring all principal dishes at the same time. First dish from the menu came after one hour… and it only had 3 pieces for four. Second dish from the menu took 15 minutes to come and it was one small cup of miso soup for 4 of us with no further explanation. Waiting another 15 minutes to receive the first principal dish… we finally had or principales dishes after 2hours of waiting… our wine service was far and poorly reactive . Restaurant manager try to excuse the service by telling me that this is nobu serving procedure ( family serving) and that I should not complain… meaning that we are suppose to share all what they bring and at the pace that they decide to feed us…. So if one of us only eat meat and the chef decides that meet will be served in 1 h 30 minutes so this guest will have to wait and look how the other guest eat their sushi’s . WOW never heard of such a thing from nobu or from any restaurant !!!

Your request to have your main dishes served together should have been clearly acknowledged and managed, and we regret that this was not the case. We’re also concerned to hear about the explanation given regarding the serving style. While some dishes are designed for sharing, this should always be communicated clearly and, most importantly, handled in a way that ensures all guests feel comfortable and well taken care of.     Having visited a few Nobu restaurants globally this was undoubtedly my favourite. The Omakase was brilliant and staff made the night a memorable one. I recommend adding the rock shrimp tempura to your order regardless of what it is.
