The one waitress who served us was amazing. I think her name is Gladys. Everyone else was cold and non-attentive. Aesthetically, the restaurant is stunning. The food is also really tasty. Have the platter if you go as a group.

Nice ambiance, but pricing caught us off guard I recently had the opportunity to dine at Ocaso Restaurant with my family, and while the atmosphere was lovely, I was quite surprised by the Christmas menu they had in place. We had booked a table well in advance, but weren't expecting the special menu to come with such a hefty price tag - R700 for a 3-course meal with one drink per person added up quickly. It would've been great if the menu and pricing were communicated to us beforehand, especially since we had booked ahead of time. That being said, the restaurant itself was nice, and I'm sure we'll consider it again in the future if the pricing is more transparent. Overall, 3/5 stars - would've liked more clarity on pricing.

Food was disappointing, a complete let down. I had high expectations given content I had seen about the restaurant online and was bitterly disappointed. The pico de gallo chips needed a dip as eating chips with a heap of onions was not appealing. The taco was hardly filled and it felt like I was mostly eating shell. The churros were undercooked in the centre so extremely doughy.

The food was terrible. The so-called sharing platter was extremely small, yet costs R750 — which honestly feels like a portion meant for one person. Putting portion size aside, the meat also had a foul smell. The service was just as bad. We arrived at 18:15, ordered drinks and food, and only got to eat around 20:00. I was really excited to try OCaso, but the experience was disappointing. They should honestly learn a thing or two from Mamasamba when it comes to food and platters Never again.
