    We ordered the prawn and avocado ritz, which was an underwhelming flavour experience. Our main meal was a fillet steak and although the steak was cooked to our preference (medium well), it lacked the X factor. I was expecting beautiful caramelisation on the meat and an accompanying sauce that brought everything together in a tantalising way. The potato chips served with the main were ‘pont neuf’ style and not all of them were cooked through properly. In Port Elizabeth, I would argue that for approx. R300 per main, I expect a dish that’s on point.

    This is the second time visiting Off the Menu, their food is impeccable and reasonably priced. They serve great wine, great service and friendly staff. You have access to imported Italian condiments as well as great ideas and advice on how to use some of the ingredients at home. We will definitely be back soon!!
