Ōku Asian Eatery is a Southeast Asian-inspired restaurant situated on Franschhoek’s main road.

The restaurant interior is inspired by the minimalistic design popular in the traditional Asian culture with delicate artwork and unique bonsai trees decorating the walls of the restaurant.

The team guided by Ryan Shell has created an ever-evolving menu that showcases traditional Asian-themed tones in a respectful manner whilst using high-quality local and seasonal produce. Our passionate front-of-house team is driven to deliver excellence in all aspects of service whilst displaying empathy for all of our guests by attending to their needs and desires.

Our wine list is focused on local wineries from in and around the valley as well as a selection of cocktails and sakes, including our own house brand beer-styled sakes.

The dining experience is completed with instrumental music that evokes a sense of calmness in our guests that enables them to unwind and relax.

    Amazing find in Franschhoek. 5 start experience from start to finish. Thanks to Daran the sommelier for recommendations on the night and for further tasting experiences in the valley. Thanks to Lwando, Sinesipho and Anele from the wait staff who looked after us for the night and made it an amazing experience! Will be recommending

    Exceptional service, warm, welcoming environment. We shared a number of vegetarian starters that all has such interesting and delicious depth and balance of flavour. The chefs treated us to a few complimentary additions that really topped off an amazing experience!
