Ōku Asian Eatery is a Southeast Asian-inspired restaurant situated on Franschhoek’s main road.

The restaurant interior is inspired by the minimalistic design popular in the traditional Asian culture with delicate artwork and unique bonsai trees decorating the walls of the restaurant.

The team guided by Ryan Shell has created an ever-evolving menu that showcases traditional Asian-themed tones in a respectful manner whilst using high-quality local and seasonal produce. Our passionate front-of-house team is driven to deliver excellence in all aspects of service whilst displaying empathy for all of our guests by attending to their needs and desires.

Our wine list is focused on local wineries from in and around the valley as well as a selection of cocktails and sakes, including our own house brand beer-styled sakes.

The dining experience is completed with instrumental music that evokes a sense of calmness in our guests that enables them to unwind and relax.

    The food was amazing and the presentation very classy What I disliked a touch is being interrupted consistently by service staff asking how we are doing? Best is to ask when you are serving the next dish and not in between

    A must when visiting Franschoek. Great value for the 4 course. The food was sublime and at some point we asked them to stop because we were stuffed but could not stop eating. Staff is extremely friendly and service overall is top notch. I

    Dishes presented nicely. Food didn’t have a lot of flavour, could barely tell it was Japanese. Extremely overpriced for what you get.
