    A beautiful venue with exceptional service. However the food was average, the Thai green curry mussels was a creamy garlic sauce and certainly not a curry, the chill chocolate steak was disappointing, it was supposed to be a fillet but tasted and chewed like a rump - I asked for medium but received the full house from well-medium-medium rare and the sauce had no chilli not even a hint, it was melted dark chocolate. The whiskey rib-eye was average and also a combination of well done - to medium. The chefs probably had a bad Sunday & did not live up to the expectations created by the service.

    What a great experience we had, From the service which was spot on and the food was exceptionally good in flavor and well presented. The view from the deck over Nelspruit is beautiful. You will see us again

    Orange Restaurant is usually a solid choice, which is why this visit surprised us a little. The mashed potatoes seemed to have been prepared earlier in the day and reheated, they had that unmistakable “I’ve been on standby for a while” taste and consistancy. From a place with Orange’s reputation, one expects potatoes that were introduced to the masher fairly recently. The ablutions (both gents and ladies) also appear to be going through a phase that could politely be described as “in need of a little love.” I’m fairly confident management will immediately understand what I mean once they take another look. That said, we will definitely be back. Orange Restaurant is normally very good, so I’m sure this was just an off day. Hopefully next time the potatoes will be freshly mashed and the ablutions will have rediscovered their dignity.
