    Orange restaurant has really dropped their standards, we thought we should give it another chance after our last disappointment after they hired a new chef last year. We should not have wasted our time and money! I personally think the change of chefs was a bad idea. Yes, it is his "interpretation of the menu" but we are not impressed. Ask yourselves why the restaurant doesn’t fill up as it used to?! My lamb shank was burnt, the gravy looked like it was frozen for days and microwaved. I was offered something else. I ordered prawns which were bland, two of them were undercooked, but I just left them on the plate. If it wasn’t for the sauce, I would not have had them. My partner had beef stroganoff, it tasted bland and the beef seemed off but he thought he should give it a chance - terrible idea. He almost threw up at the table. Overall, the experience was subpar, the ambience lacked charm as it was cold, the tables were empty, yet we were offered a table by the door we couldn’t wait to get home! Food was nauseating. We left the restaurant feeling disappointed and wishing we could have spent our money elsewhere. I do not see myself recommending this restaurant to anyone.

    Dear Monde I am truly horrified for the bad experience you had, especially with the food! I have taken it up with Chef, which is a new one and not the one you refer to last year, it will definitely not happen again. I am also changing the menu a tad to have more winter friendly dishes. I also apologize that you were not offered a window seat if there was one available....this is unacceptable! As for the ambience, it was a Tuesday night and it is normally a quiet night of the week unless we have functions. It is definitely not a reflection on our other nights which are 80% full occupancy but understand that the bad experience has left a very bitter taste in your mouth which would make a review more acid! I really am sorry about this. I would really like to offer you a complimentary dinner for two that I will personally handle to make sure you get the true Orange experience as one thing I will NEVER do is drop my standards! If you feel that you really do not want the dinner I would like to give you a full refund please. I also feel that you should not pay for something you did not enjoy.     Food would get a 5 star rating if the dessert was up to standard. If I order a vanilla panna cotta I want to taste vanilla, unfortunately the panna cotta didn’t taste like anything and was covered in berries that masked any type of taste from the panna cotta. Main dish was great, this too gets a 4, if you going to say Bernaise sauce, ensure there is enough sauce to eat a 300g steak with and not just a tablespoon full. Drinks are on the expensive side and so my 4 star rating.
