Paserene is a small, family operated winery owned by Martin Smith and Ndabe Mareda, the sole purpose of which is to produce high-end, luxury wines. Great care was given to ensure that the wines produced, and artwork on the labels, are truly authentic to its “sense of place and people” and will guarantee a lasting legacy.

The name Paserene comes from the Latin word Passeriformes, the order of "traveling and free" birds containing swifts and swallows. Paserene is situated in the quaint town of Franschhoek and is home to their award-winning wine range. A professional and contemporary tasting lounge is situated on the property.

    Excellent wine tasting in a beautiful setting. Lovely terrace and gardens. Wines were all excellent and would highly recommend. Food was small plates and were all very nice.

    We had an absolute fantastic experience at Paserene, and we are so happy we decided on Paserene to celebrate our 33 wedding anniversary. Joshua is an absolute gem! He really went to extra lengths to ensure everything was perfect. Zandile, who assisted us withe the tasting, is also a superstar-friendly and efficient and so knowledgeable. I really recommend a visit to this stunning venue. See you soon again

    We had a pleasant visit , wines were average , waiter was excellent and the food average . Beware the water charge of R75 per bottle .

    Beautiful views from a great tasting room. Very good quality wine and an excellent cheese platter. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon
