Guided by Provenance, Inspired by the Abundance of the Stellenbosch Valley

Inspired by the spirit of abundance, Plenitude is the culinary address at Majeka House Boutique Hotel, helmed by Stellenbosch resident chef Orlando Reid.

This relaxed yet refined neighbourhood restaurant brings together the best of both worlds: laid-back daytime dining that invites you to linger, and a thoughtfully curated evening experience showcasing seasonal plates with inspiration sourced from the hotel’s kitchen garden.

I do not often write reviews, but because I make use of reviews to choose restaurants, I decided that this one is necessary. The zero for service has nothing to do with the waiter, but rather management and the chef. Our order for deserts was taken, to only be notified 10 minutes later that there are no deserts available, because they had a big group the DAY before. I find it unacceptable to not have any of the 3 deserts on your menu available and worse, to not inform your guests about it ahead of time. Just to clarify, we were the first table of the evening (3 guests) and there was only one table of 2 in the restaurant at the time.

A True Diamond in the Rough – Incredible Fine Dining! We stumbled upon this beautiful, quaint restaurant at the boutique hotel in La Pastorie, Stellenbosch, and what a wonderful surprise it was! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warmest, most friendly faces. The service was top-tier, and the food was fine dining at its absolute best. Sitting back and taking in the elegant atmosphere with the stunning mountain backdrop made the experience unforgettable. Even with renovations currently underway, the staff didn't skip a beat—their dedication to giving us excellent service was incredible. Finding a hidden gem like this felt surreal. I genuinely can’t wait to bring my friends back here next time! Highly recommended.
