If you're as serious about ramen as we are, you've found the best place in Cape Town to slurp silky freshly-made noodles, sip umami-rich broth simmered and nurtured for days, and socialise with brimful glasses of sake. Having imported the only Yamato noodle machine in Africa, you won’t find anywhere else like it!

Taking our cue from the ramen houses in Japan, not only with the authenticity of our ingredients and the care lavished on the preparation, we are casual, we are edgy, and we have a vibe - day and night, right in the heart of the city. Our low-hydration noodles are freshly made on-site, left for a minimum of two days to mature, and served steaming hot – just the way they should be. Known for our popularity, we limit seating time to two hours per table, ensuring you get the finest bowl of ramen – and so does the next hungry customer too!

Please note, we have outside seating available for walk-ins, which is weather dependent. No reservations are required for lunch.

    Really good Ramen place! Now one of our favorite top 2 places in Cape Town if not all of South Africa. Beautiful restaurant, great service, traditional Japanese, super happy.

    Our meal at Ramenhead was once again fantastic. We were a large group, and our table was immaculately prepared when we arrived. For starters, we shared the Ramen Chips, Gyoza, and Okonomiyaki Fries — all packed with flavour and absolutely faultless. The team noticed we were sharing and, without being asked, brought us individual plates — a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the evening. For mains, we had the Tori Chintan and the Tofu Sesame Abura Soba. Both dishes were beautifully presented and tasted phenomenal. The only detail that could have taken the meal to the next level would’ve been if the egg was soft rather than medium. We ended with coffee, sorbet, and the Japanese cheesecake — a perfect way to close off the evening. All in all, an exceptional experience from start to finish. I’d highly recommend an evening at Ramenhead. Special shout-out to Oscar, who took hospitality to the next level — your service truly made the night memorable
