    I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience really disappointed me. I made a booking for my birthday at 6pm, and by 8:20pm we were told we had to move off our table. (Wasn’t even 3 hours) This came as a complete surprise, as there was no mention anywhere on the website or during the booking process that there is a strict 3-hour seating limit. To make matters worse, we were then told that if we wanted another table, we would need to pay a R200 deposit per head because it was past a certain time — despite there being no available tables anyway. The only alternative offered was for our group to stand at the bar, which is completely unreasonable for a birthday celebration, especially when I had brought a cake to cut. After some back and forth, we were eventually seated again, but at a second table that we were told we could only use for 30 minutes because it was already reserved. At that point, it honestly just felt like we were being pushed out. We also noticed that other tables around us were not being asked to move, despite clearly being there longer than we had been. At the new table, no waitress came to assist us, and it felt as though we were being ignored in the hope that we would leave. That only added to the frustration and made us feel unwelcome. What should have been a special evening turned into a really uncomfortable experience. We ended up leaving shortly after and didn’t feel inclined to spend anything further. It’s a shame because we actually enjoyed everything else and were planning to stay longer and spend more on drinks, but the lack of communication and poor handling of the situation completely dampened the entire celebration. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back, and neither will our group.

    My daughter celebrated her birthday with her friends (table of 12) and had the absolute best time. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Their waitress Bianca was brilliant. Thank you guys!

    Great venue for my wifes 30th birthday, my only 2 gripes was getting the link for the deposit initially was really rough but once it was escalated it was skillfully handled and the other being quoted the wrong price per person for the deposit. However food was great, Amber was great, vibes were great and wife enjoyed her time so I definitely don't regret choosing Rita's as the venue.

    The person who served us (the lady with long blonde hair) was very friendly and helpful. A great person who made us feel comfortable, had us laughing, and was an overall great server. Unfortunately, we did not get her name; however, she provided a wonderful service, and we as a group would all go back in a heartbeat.

    This is definitely not the kind of "South African hospitality you expect"— that coming from the MD & CEO visiting all the way from Amsterdam. Around 8pm, one staff member told us we had to leave because there was another reservation at 8:30. We can understand time slots, but there was no offer of another table or alternative space, and we had just ordered food—with no mention of any time limit when we placed the order. While we were discussing this, another waitress jumped in and said she needed the chair one of us was currently sitting on. After that, we were done!
