Welcome to Room 32 where the story of food begins, and lingers long after the last bite.

At the heart of our kitchen is a reverence for South Africa’s abundant natural pantry. From sun-kissed farms and bursting docks to the quiet generosity of our indigenous forest, every ingredient we select comes with a memory of place, of people, of time. This is food rooted in respect, and lifted by imagination – from desert, dock, and forest to fork.

Our menu is a journey through South Africa’s rich culinary heritage; reinterpreted with modern finesse. Expect flavours that honour tradition while embracing discovery.

Each dish is crafted with care, layered in flavour, thoughtful in texture and grounded in the essence of the land. You may taste the tang of coastal seaweed beside wild-caught fish or the gentle smokiness of heirloom grains paired with foraged greens. Every plate tells a story, and every story begins with connection.

Our beverage program is curated to echo this philosophy. Wines are carefully selected, drawn from winemakers and vineyards that understand the land as intimately as we do. Mocktails, spirits and signature cocktails are stirred and shaken with purpose, balancing bold South African botanicals with refined global techniques.

Beautifully plated food but most of the flavour combinations didn't match the visuals. The friendly ervice staff were trying hard but badly coordinated (despite the headsets and the many, many staff people). The service was almost certainly undermined by the large event taking place simultaneously on the pool deck but it is nevertheless a problem for a high-end restaurant. Wine list is short - 10 whites and 8 reds - but beautifully put together and reasonably priced for a luxury hotel venue. Overall, it doesn't yet match Qunu at the Saxon for quiet, luxurious high-end dining or Embarc in Parkhurst for fine dining at a good price.

What a beautiful afternoon outing we spent at your establishment. The service from the gate, the ambience, the music, the food and the service from all the waitresses and the manager all contributed to making our outing special. We enjoyed ourselves.
