The Root44 Wine emporium, located on the first-floor, hosts offerings for the cultured person with a keen interest in wine, art, and good food. Surrounded by a well-designed structure and stylish interior, it boasts an art gallery, sport’s bar, oyster bar, coffee shop, restaurant and a wine shop and tasting room that showcases local wines and gives guests a tasting experience of an array of Stellenbosch wines. The wine shop is inspired by a journey of discovery through the wine route of Stellenbosch.

    Everything was excellent. Our waiter Yvonne knew her menu and could advise us with ease what are the good selections on wines and my cooler was the best pre-gradustion gift.

    I ordered medium to well chops, got a well done. They took it back and brought a rare to medium. Didn't enjoy my meal at all. Worst of all we ordered sparkling water and got non sparkling like really all in one session. Never again

    Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. The steak was cooked to perfection and the wine selection was excellent. Our waiter was attentive, making for a memorable evening. We look forward to visiting again.
