A meeting place for young and old, a state of the art building where traders can have a more permanent stand. A place where vibrance, style and quality meets the avid market goer. The building blends well with the surroundings, and then opens to a spectacular view of Stellenbosch’s best – mountains and vineyards! Choose from a lovely array of foods from around the world.

The Root44 Wine emporium, located on the first-floor, hosts offerings for the cultured person with a keen interest in wine, art, and good food. Surrounded by a well-designed structure and stylish interior, it boasts an art gallery, sport’s bar, oyster bar, coffee shop, restaurant and a wine shop and tasting room that showcases local wines and gives guests a tasting experience of an array of Stellenbosch wines. The wine shop is inspired by a journey of discovery through the wine route of Stellenbosch.

    Exceptional. what an absolutely beautiful experience it was! From the stunning setting to the warm atmosphere, everything was just perfect. The venue is spacious, clean, and surrounded by such breathtaking views — it truly creates a magical environment for any special occasion. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout the process. They made everything feel smooth and stress-free, which means so much when you’re planning something important.     Hi Zonke, Thank you for your feedback. We’d just like to clarify that we are not, and have never advertised ourselves as, a buffet. What we offer is a traditional Sunday roast, which has always been served as a plated meal with one main course and one dessert option. We’re sorry if there was any confusion, but at no point has our Sunday roast been presented as a buffet service.     The service was completely bad, had to wait long to be served, even waited 20min just to get our drinks, the food was just average I had more better
