The Root44 Wine emporium, located on the first-floor, hosts offerings for the cultured person with a keen interest in wine, art, and good food. Surrounded by a well-designed structure and stylish interior, it boasts an art gallery, sport’s bar, oyster bar, coffee shop, restaurant and a wine shop and tasting room that showcases local wines and gives guests a tasting experience of an array of Stellenbosch wines. The wine shop is inspired by a journey of discovery through the wine route of Stellenbosch.

    Coco and supporting team were beyond excellent. To give such a service to a group of 21 year old "adults" (34 in total) without any complaints are rare. Thank you to all at Root 44 restaurant, from managing team, since booking, till end of evening. Much appreciated. Regards. Coetzee family.

    I was told that hyperli vouchers are not used during the week, I had to go back. Otherwise it seemed like a nice place. I think it's unfair that people who buy these vouchers are not treated like others whereas they also used money to purchase them.

    The service was of high standard. Food was to satisfaction. We had a very nice and tranquil experience and was proud when my Australian guests complimented the venue and actually the whole of Western Cape. They said they could cleary note where efficient governance take place entering the Western Cape Province (coming on tour from GP to KZN to Souhern Cape to Western Cape)

    We really enjoyed the Sunday Roast at Route 44 Wine Emporium. The meat was tender, the roast potatoes crispy, and the gravy full of flavour. Great portions and a warm, welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a Sunday visit!
