The new Stellenbosch Kitchen restaurant, located in the historic centre of Stellenbosch, operates in a National Monument building that previously housed the very popular Jan Cats Restaurant & Ladies Bar, established in 1987.
Stellenbosch Kitchen and its underlying property are owned by Andre and Helena Pieterse, who also own the 5-star Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel & Spa and the highly regarded Helenas Restaurant at 33 Church Street in Stellenbosch.

Our dishes are adapted from classics found around the world. We source most of our produce within 50km of Stellenbosch and we liaise closely with our suppliers to procure only the freshest seasonal ingredients.

    Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable waitresses and good food and drink options. Excellent option for couples or groups.

    The 3-course menu was great value for money and the service was on point. The roaring fire created a wonderful atmosphere on a chilly Sunday. We enjoyed the Saffron chorizo risotto and the lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone delicious. Though the Crème Brûlée and cheesecake were nice, the frozen mango yogurt dessert was disappointing.

    Very small menu, limited choices, no kiddy menu at lunch time apparently. Very empty but service not amazing. Food good no complaints on that score.
