The new Stellenbosch Kitchen restaurant, located in the historic centre of Stellenbosch, operates in a National Monument building that previously housed the very popular Jan Cats Restaurant & Ladies Bar, established in 1987.
Stellenbosch Kitchen and its underlying property are owned by Andre and Helena Pieterse, who also own the 5-star Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel & Spa and the highly regarded Helenas Restaurant at 33 Church Street in Stellenbosch.

Our dishes are adapted from classics found around the world. We source most of our produce within 50km of Stellenbosch and we liaise closely with our suppliers to procure only the freshest seasonal ingredients.

    Staff seemed more irritated by our table more than anything, other than that we had a lovely evening. Hard to get the attention of a waiter, and we’re left alone for too long. Food met expectations built by those that recommended the restaurant, burgers were huge but they are mainly bun. Quick food service from the kitchen, all cooked to the right temperature. Thank you, chefs and front of house.

    They took a bit too long with the food. The food was really good, but just poor service and attendance to our table.
