    My one big problem was regarding the pecking duck, i asked the server if it comes with pancakes and cucumbers and was told they ran out, but was told later its back they made a plan, when it arrived at the table the pancakes were replaced with rice and vegetables, not sure how that complements the dish, the skin wasnt crispy either, everything else was great our server was amazing,

    We recently visited Tang Sandton to celebrate a birthday. The experience started off well, and the food was generally very good. The sushi was excellent and definitely the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the service deteriorated as the evening progressed. Our food orders became mixed up, and we were only informed after ordering that the crêpes were unavailable. This should have been communicated before orders were placed. As part of the birthday celebration, the restaurant presented a beautifully designed birthday dessert plate with a "Happy Birthday" message, a sparkler, and what appeared to be dry ice. The presentation had the potential to create the kind of theatre and experience that Tang is known for. However, after the dessert was served, nothing happened. We ended up pouring water over the dry ice ourselves to create the effect, which took away from the experience entirely. We then called the waiter back to ask whether he was going to light the sparkler. He advised that he had not lit it because he was busy and did not have the time. While we understand that restaurants can get busy, this response felt dismissive and disappointing, particularly during a special birthday celebration. Overall, the food was very good and the sushi was outstanding, but the service and attention to detail fell short of expectations. Tang offers a premium dining experience, and it was unfortunate that the service did not match the quality of the food or the atmosphere the restaurant was clearly trying to create.

    Appalling service quality for price paid. We prebooked a large group and our table was not ready upon arrival. Secondly, it took over an hour for our starters to arrive after ordering. The main meals took another 45 minutes to arrive despite being ordered at the same time as the starters. The deserts was a disaster, it took an other hour to arrive after ordering, including scoops of ice cream and they got most of the deserts wrong. Despite management acknowledging the poor quality of service, an automatic 12,5% service fee was charged and no discount was given.
