At the beginning of October 2024 Angelo Stipinovich and Patrick Fleckenstein took over the management of Tebaldis‘s Restaurant at Temenos Retreat.

Tebaldis‘s restaurant has been on the culinary scene in McGregor for many a year. Under the leadership of a number of great chefs, it has grown to become a landmark restaurant serving the people of McGregor as well as, and especially the guests of Temenos Retreat. Named after the famous Italian soprano Renata Tebaldi it has its own very special and unique flare. The beautiful green and shady area at the front of the restaurant on Voortrekker Street Street is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious breakfast, hearty lunch or divine dinner on those hot and sultry McGregor days. Walking into the beautiful building which houses the main restaurant and kitchen, one is transported into a space of beauty. The Terrace of Tebaldis‘s opens up onto the magnificent TEMENOS Gardens.

The most important thing to know about the Tebaldis’s team is that they are absolutely passionate about food. Following the principle of “local is lekker”, ingredients are primarily sourced from around the beautiful Breede River Valley and Robertson wine area. The presented food however is inspired by culinary tradition from around the world - from Turkish eggs, to Italian lasagna, from Lebanese lentil soup to British battered fish and chips and not forgetting amazing cuts of South African Karoo Lamb or prime beef.

At Tebaldis‘s it is always about so much more than just eating. It is about making our guests feel welcome and comfortable and at home. We do our best to present delicious plates of food in the hope that the special ambience and beauty of Temenos Retreat combined with our tasty food leads to joy, laughter and scintillating conversation.

We ate at Tebaldi’s 2 nights in a row. Food was really good and service was great. Best of all we’re able to take our dog.

A real gem in McGregor. This was our second visit and we were quite taken with the warmth of the staff and locals. We participated in their quizz night which was quite alot of fun.

Food delicious and presentation superb. However my husband asked for grilled hake and it was battered and deep fried.
