Under the mentorship of Luke Dale Roberts, talented chef Wesley Randles of The Shortmarket Club heads the kitchen, with seasoned restaurateur Simon Widdison overseeing the front of house. Located in the loft area of the space next to The Shortmarket Club, the colourful, contemporary restaurant, designed by Sandalene Dale Roberts, hosts just 45 diners at a time, and its busy, convivial atmosphere is well-suited to modern diners who have things to do and places to be.

    We thought the dishes if taken separately were delicious, but when eaten as consecutive dishes as part of a full dinner meal our feedback is as follows: the spicy nature of all the dishes we tried ( I had three and my husband four) when taken altogether was on the overwhelming side. Perhaps the menu could benefit from being interspersed with items that allow the other flavors and taste sensations to come to the fore. Or if these are indeed available at any given point in time, that the waiters be trained to make recommendations that bring balance to a patron’s selection. The bass ceviche in the delicate cups was the stand out dish for us both, very good indeed!

    We really enjoyed our meal, but found the chicken very messy to eat, the coating was very wet. The profiteroles were really disappointing, a bit too big and the filling had no flavour at all. I wasn't sure if it was meant to be caramel, chocolate or coffee! The sauce was also very sweet and a bit grainy. The springbok, pani puri and prawns were excellent!
