The legendary Grill Room has been renowned for its fine dining and outstanding cuisine for almost 70 years.

Under the culinary leadership of the Executive Chef, the menu is an inspired combination of classic favourites, created by Bea Tollman, president and founder of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, the restaurants Signature Dishes and contemporary creations, inspired by current global trends.

Classic Grill Room touches include the authentic Gueridon service, where food is prepared and presented at the individual diners table and the Classic 1920s Hors d Oeuvres Trolley, with an extensive range of 18 ‘old world appetizers.

With over 50 years of experience, Maitre‘d Hendry Pakiri, still presides over the elegant dining room.

    We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. A very thoughtful gift ! The lobster and prawn starter was divine. My husband had the filet mignon which he thoroughly enjoyed, and I had the salmon with risotto , also delicious. Both much more detailed than just salmon and steak ! Dessert was a trio of chocolate and Rose , which was a delight of meringue and fruit , abd do much more. Paired with delicious wines. A thoroughly enjoyable meal in super surroundings. Staff super efficient and friendly.

    This was the most elegant and delicious meal we had in all of S. Africa. We wish we had come earlier to our reservation in the Grill Room so we could have had more time in the bar which is very relaxing. We had the clear tomato consume, langoustine carpaccio, beef Wellington, duck breast and crepe Suzette and a couple cappuccinos. The clear tomato consume and the langoustine carpaccio were new taste treats and we enjoyed them. The beef Wellington was absolutely delicious and tender. The duck breast was OK, a little chewy. The cappuccinos were the best we have ever had. Good strong flavor without any bitterness I'm looking forward to coming again

    Food was great, experience was nostaligic but it is now comfortably priced out of the local market. A R3300 dinner for 2 needs to be exceptional, this was great, but nothing you couldn't get elsewhere for a third of the cost. Including the service charge at a dinner for 2 is unheard of here, which just reaffirms the local market is no longer the target.
