Melkbos Kitchen features a front row seat to the most beautiful sunsets in South Africa.

Come enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner with us. We have a varied menu (with vegan options) that changes seasonally as well as a blackboard with current linefish or any other specials we may be running at the time

Thur, Fri & Sat 10h00 - 21h00
Tuesdays Closed

Kindly note that we are in a residential area with strict zoning restrictions so our last food orders and last drinks rounds are called well in advance to comply with these rather boring but strictly enforced zoning restrictions.

We do love children and furry friends but are primarily an adult based environment so do not offer a play area for children or a kiddies menu. Furry ones are welcome in our outdoor area only as long as they remain on their leash, are not aggressive to other guests, furry ones or our team and they may not sit on our chairs or be fed in the dining area.

We are a strictly no smoking venue, regardless of what you puff ... a bench is however provided in an area outside of the dining areas for our smoking guests.

As a limited capacity venue we do advise that reservations are made well in advance..

    We had lunch there about 3years ago with my daughter and husband before they emigrated to Australia. Since then we always wanted to come back and try the breakfast. The quality of food was great. However, there are three different egg benedicts but only one "farm style". I do not like poached egg, so I will never order that. I prefer a fried egg with soft yellow. Restaurants tend to serve fried eggs, sunny side up, with a soft white as well. Thats why I always order scrambled eggs or an omelet. I had the omelet this time and my wife had the Salmon Egg Benedict, ordered medium eggs. The eggs were well done, sadly. After breakfast I ordered a tea, and my wife had the chai tea. By the time my tea arrived, it was already cold, sadly.

    Good day Barry, Thank you for your review. We are quite confused as to what you are saying in your review, as we do not have omelets on our menu. Our system shows that your party ordered 1 basic breakfast with extra bacon, 2 chicken livers and 1 salmon benedict. We do wish that you would have brought the overdone eggs to your waiter's attention at the time, so we could have rectified the mistake, as sadly mistakes do happen now and then but something like this could have been quickly addressed.... thank you
