From our travels around the world over the past few years, we got inspired by many of the things we’ve savoured – Spanish dinner parties, late-night brasseries in France and Italy and just simple good cooking at afternoon eateries in Southern Africa and Asia. Our menu is based on these experiences, using earthly techniques like wood grilling, hot or cold smoking, and when it feels right, offering fusion styled dishes from all over the world.

We work directly with local farms to source meats and seafood to ensure they are treated well, whether dry-aged or grass-fed, organic or raised through sustainable methods. Because of this, we tend to cook things simple, with only a few ingredients, and lots of love.

The Packshed at Sweetdale is hosting a monthly Night Market with unique craft & food vendors & live music. It is happening every last Friday of the month from 06.00pm to 10.00, no entry fee!

The Packshed is also the perfect venue to host a wedding or any other special occasion and function. We can accommodate up to 200 people.

    Went there for Gigi's birthday and, as per usual, everything tasted divine, a genuine kaleidoscope of taste, with Daniel being the perfect host.

    This charming gem in Margate is truly boasts a beautiful rustic charm that feels warm and inviting, complemented by top-tier service from the staff, who were attentive and professional throughout our visit. While the overall experience was wonderful, the food was somewhat inconsistent. My wife's dish was well presented and full of flavour, but unfortunately, my own meal did not meet the same standard. The steak, rather than having the expected grilled depth, had a texture that suggested it had been boiled, resulting in a chewy consistency with no flavour. The garlic and truffle sauce helped somewhat, but the dish lacked the richness one would anticipate. That said, the thoughtful touches and extra effort made to celebrate my wife's birthday were truly appreciated, and she had an unforgettable afternoon. Despite my meal falling short, it does not overshadow the enjoyable experience we both had at the restaurant. We would certainly return for the ambience and service, though I would likely explore a different menu option next time.
