    Really have to commend the staff at the restaurant as well as the tasting room . Mervin was so helpful with arranging a booking for us, efficiently and promptly. The amuse buche was unexpected but exciting and well received . I will definitely be back and will recommend this wonderful experience to all friends and family travelling to the winelands .

    The layout is nice and the food was outstanding, my only complaint is that the kitchen faces onto the dining room and the staff speak loudly to one another which just kills the ambience.I would suggest that you brick up the open wall.It would make for a quieter more peaceful experience.

    10/10 Beautiful place, amazing food! for mains we had Pork belly, Lamb and Fish and all divine!! The complementary tasters were amazing and we had an exceptional service, overall ambiance at the restaurant was superb. Very romantic atmosphere! So beautiful!

    Re: Disappointing Experience at Hazendal – 12th Wedding Anniversary Visit Dear Hazendal Team, I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent visit to Hazendal, which was meant to be a special celebration for our 12th wedding anniversary with our family of seven. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations, starting from the moment we arrived. The reception was unwelcoming, and we were left standing in confusion with no clear direction on where we needed to go. When I mentioned this to a staff member responsible for escorting us to the hotel, she acknowledged the issue and even appeared frustrated with her colleagues for the lack of coordination. We also had high expectations for the fine dining experience, especially the dessert, but were deeply disappointed. This was our first letdown in fine dining, unlike our previous experiences. Additionally, the ox tongue had an off smell and taste, which further diminished our experience. The only pleasant part of our visit was the waitress who served us—she was attentive and professional, which we truly appreciated. This was meant to be a joyous occasion, but instead, it felt disorganized and underwhelming. Given the high expectations we had for Hazendal, we left feeling that the experience was not worth the time or money. Sadly, this has discouraged us from returning in the future.
