    I booked this restaurant to celebrate a 30th birthday. We were a group of 13 and expected a beautiful evening. What we got instead was unhygienic conditions, poor service, and billing that was honestly unacceptable. The most concerning part of the night, and the reason for this review, was the hygiene. A cockroach ran across our table mid-evening. This is not something you expect at any restaurant. Our waiter, Zanele, came over and killed the cockroach at the table and went to inform the manager, Attie. No one came to check on us. No apology. No explanation. No attempt to acknowledge how serious and disgusting this was. We were simply expected to carry on as if nothing had happened. The service was poor from the start. We constantly had to look for our waiter, Zanele, just to place orders. Drinks took forever to arrive and the food took even longer. One steak order was wrong and not what was asked for. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived it was inflated with items we never ordered. We are certain there were only 8 mojitos at the table, yet the bill reflected 15. There were multiple other items added that we did not have. This was not a small mistake, it was a significant overcharge and had to be challenged. Between the terrible service, the unsanitary conditions, and the dishonest billing, this was an extremely disappointing experience. This was meant to be a celebration and instead left us frustrated and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.     We celebrated my 50th birthday at the Rockefeller. I loved how welcoming this place felt. The buffet breakfast had plenty of options and my guests enjoyed the food. This restaurant absolutely exceeded my expectations. Good food, a calm atmosphere, and genuinely friendly staff that went over and above their duties.

    It was a ten out of ten experience, our waiter Brian gave us the perfect service and the ambiance of the place is just gorgeous. I won’t even get started on their food and cocktails. It was the best way to celebrate an 18th birthday

    Our first time visiting this restaurant and sadly it was rather disappointing. On arrival, we were warmly greeted and shown to our table and handed menus. We placed our drinks order and were immediately told the wine of our choice was not available. Later on we were informed the gin we chose was also not available. A 3rd return the tonic of our choice was not available. The cooldrinks and gin arrived but we waited for the bottle of wine, this arrived almost 15 minutes later as it was in a store room. We had to find someone to take our order as we needed to be at artscape to watch a show. On the website it shows a 2:1 pizza special, we were told this no longer happens. Our food arrived - the 2 burgers were ice cold and sent back to the kitchen. 2 of the pizzas did not have all the ingredients listed on the menu. When the burgers returned they were not the same ones that were originally ordered and the onion rings were still ice cold. We asked to speak to a manager and told him our issues from the start, he apologized. We noticed waitrons collecting salad dressing on a shelf and heard the lids pop - Ina Parman dressings should not be on a shelf and rather stored in a fridge! Each table had a vase with a crunchy dead protea head in it. What we paid for was not what we received. On our way out we were basically ignored. This restaurant has a lot to offer and could be buzzing with tourists and locals. It’s embarrassing to think what overseas visitors would think of dead flower arrangements, off dressings, missing items and cold food. Sadly we will think twice before revisiting.
