Really enjoyed The Wine & Dine Event with Journeys End. Something different, excellent service, food and overall great value.

We recently visited The Wes Bistro and Bar in Cape Town for breakfast, drawn in by its charming French aesthetic and clear inspiration from Wes Anderson films. The interior is cozy, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully curated— definitely a visual treat. Everything from the layout to the table settings felt neat and well presented. The food was good and matched the atmosphere in quality. However, the experience was let down by the service, which was unfortunately very slow and noticeably unfriendly. It left us feeling a bit unwelcome, which was disappointing given the potential of the venue. While the ambiance and food are commendable, the lack of warmth and attentiveness from the staff makes me uncertain whether I’d return.

Lovely venue and delicious food. But our food was done and then only our coffee came. We have recieved old menus with old prices and when asked we got a rude reply and the old ones was taken back. Our coffee orders were wrong two times, had to go and ask for milk 3 times, had to get our own salt and pepper and sugar from a different table. A bit friendlier and more helpful waiter wouls have been nicer to add to the overall ecperience.

Excellent food and service. Friendly helpful waiters. Excellent juicy steak with a dark cherry jus. So delicious. Great wine list. We were there for a food and wine pairing so had only Journey’s End wines. Great ambience and decor.

ChatGPT Log in You said: Although the food was amazing, we were disappointed to wait for our meal for more than 2hours, to the point of asking to cancel our main meal, which miraculously was then being plated, which resulted in us having to hurry our desert as we had been seated in your restaurant from 11:30am to 2pm when the main course arrived. There was only one other table when we arrived. A family arrived after us and two other tables an hour later. All three were served before us. We were excited to to experience your restaurant but sadly wouldn't recommend ChatGPT said: Here's a polished and professional version of your feedback, maintaining your key points and tone: Feedback: While the food was truly exceptional, we were unfortunately left very disappointed by the service timeline. We waited over two hours for our main meal—so long, in fact, that we eventually asked for it to be cancelled. At that point, it was suddenly being plated, forcing us to rush through dessert as we had already been seated from 11:30am until 2:00pm before the main course even arrived. What made this particularly frustrating was that when we arrived, there was only one other table occupied. During our wait, a family who arrived after us and two other tables who came in an hour later were all served well before us. We had been genuinely excited to experience your restaurant, and while the food lived up to expectations, the service experience did not. Sadly, based on this visit, we wouldn’t feel confident recommending it to others

We had a lovely evening at Wes Bistro. The service was fantastic and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. The beef bourguignon and the pasta were very good. The 300g rib eye was however very chewy and fatty. We found it odd that an automatic tip was added to the bill, even though we were only a party of 3. This should be at the customer's discretion.
