Our story began in 1977 when four brothers opened the first Turn ‘n Tender in Johannesburg.

Since then we’ve become known for our love of great steak, excellent taste in wines and our warm and welcoming atmosphere where customers become friends.

We are the place for all those special celebrations and everyday occasions, because here is where you create a lifetime of memories over a meal.

    We had a great time as a family. Kids enjoyed their food we as adults also enjoyed our steaks. 10 out of 10 service.

    Our steaks were cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the house Merlot. Can never go wrong with dinner here. Excellent as always.

    We chose Turn ‘n Tender to celebrate our son’s 30th birthday, and overall, it was a wonderful choice. The food was absolutely excellent — perfectly prepared, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The service matched the quality of the meal; attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the ambiance was let down by the table next to us. A family with small children had tablets playing loudly on the table, with very noisy children’s shows on high volume throughout our meal. It made it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere and the special occasion. We did bring this to the attention of management, and offered a suggestion: perhaps families with young children could be seated in a slightly separate area, or spaced out more thoughtfully from patrons who prefer a quieter dining experience. We’ve always raised our young adults to respect mealtimes — no electronic devices at the table — and it’s something we value when dining out as well. Aside from this, Turn ‘n Tender delivered excellent food and service, and we would happily return, especially if a more considered seating arrangement could help maintain the lovely ambiance they aim to offer.

    Party of 4 each had the 300g fillet steak and chips special with shared veggies and onion ring extras. All the steak were perfectly cooked as we had requested and presented at the same time. Another great meal at Turn n Tender Bryanston - our favourite go-to restaurant for any occasion.
