Our story began in 1977 when four brothers opened the first Turn ‘n Tender in Johannesburg.

Since then we’ve become known for our love of great steak, excellent taste in wines and our warm and welcoming atmosphere where customers become friends.

We are the place for all those special celebrations and everyday occasions, because here is where you create a lifetime of memories over a meal.

    Had another lovely meal at Turn ‘n Tender. Favourite is the fillet steak, charcoal rub and Café de Paris butter. Perfectly cooked steak and delicious butter, great service and friendly staff. Best in town for steak!

    Somewhat disappointed in the steak and the service. We dined there last month and the service was incredible and the steaks were good. This time none of the steaks were grilled per request. I ordered a medium rare fillet and it was medium. My husband ordered a medium rump and although it was a very thick piece of rump, it was a little on the well done side. My friend ordered a medium point rump and his was more on the medium rare side. Perhaps they confused the order! The onion rings also not as good as before. The blue cheese salad and chips were great though. They weren’t that full yet, so the lack of attention by the waiter was surprising. Last month, they were full and the waiter was busy as a bee but he was still able to give us great service. We didn’t complain though as we were hungry and the steaks were not too much overdone. But still, it did not meet expectations.
