The hallmarks of the Urchin elemental ocean dining experience are underpinned by excellent, unobtrusive service, locally sourced and produced ingredients, and world class wine from a carefully curated wine cellar.

Gerard Van Staden showcases his signature seafood-based cooking at Urchin, fuelled by a life-long obsession with the elemental flavours of the ocean. Inspired by travels up and down the nation’s coast, and drawing on influences from across Africa, Asia and Europe; Gerard and his team cook exciting, occasionally mischievous dishes rooted in classic techniques that pop with flavour.

    Food is not worth the price. Tables are not cleared before next dish comes out. Resulting in me holding to plates in the air so that a new plate of food can be set down.

    What an amazing experience with Taste The Movie! The waiters were incredibly professional, the food was delicious, and it was just overall a fun way to spend an evening watching a favourite movie. My one and only suggestion would be to have salt on the table for anyone who enjoys a little bit more saltiness to any of their dishes, just to accommodate everyone's tastes. There was a small salt pot on our table, but it was empty. Other than that, genuinely incredible, and would definitely recommend to others!
