The Van Ryn’s Brandy Distillery lies in the heart of the Stellenbosch Valley on the banks of the Eerste River. The legendary brandy-making history dates to 1845 when Jan van Ryn arrived at the Cape. The Van Ryn Wine and Spirit company was established and with it a proud tradition of brandy excellence that remains un- paralleled in South Africa. The founder’s belief that the secret to creating a truly greatly brandy lies in its maturation, still is the cornerstone of the Van Ryn’s brandy-making tradition. The Van Ryn’s distillery boasts an impressive variety of copper potstills-one of which dates to more than 200 years. It is a living testament to the age-old art of crafting fine brandy and South African brandy culture.
Visit the Van Ryn’s Brandy Distillery, outside Stellenbosch and experience the essence of brandy-making. Join one of our Distillery tours and sample the multi-award-winning products in our tasting room. We host meetings of up to 30 guests in our two meeting venues and conference packages are customized according to your requirements.

    Keira attended to my party of seven, her presentation was very good, however the following needs some attention, entering the tasting room with its historical background, why do we need to listen to music drowning out the presentation, until someone had the sense to turn it off. The chocolate can best be described as a tasting, certainly not an experience, one of the chocolates was more of a nut brittle, difficult to eat which resulted in one of my party losing a filling, the nut brittle leaves bits in the mouth and makes tasting the brandy unpleasant updating. The brandy tasting is very good, BUT the chocolate tasting needs updating with better chocolate. A Dignam.

    Only downgraded location since quite far out of town. Otherwise an outstanding experience.
