    Oue wine was corked and when we explained this to someliier he tried to suggest that is how italian wines taste! Pasta not at all how italians make pasta - we had spegjetti meatballs and the tomato sauce was too acidic and the plate was drowning in sauce - not really authentic italian. Service was rude and argumentative. We cancelled our 3rd course minites after ordering it - it was cancelled even before we started eating the 1st course of antipasti. The waitress confirmed that was fine to cancel the plate (which we explained e were cancelling as the portions seemed too big and as we were eating 4 courses). But after 1 hour when it was time for the 3rd course (one plate of which we can cancelled) the same waitress said she had made a mistake earlier and that we now must accept the fish we cancelled earlier or have it as a take away. The manageer too was argumentative and condescending and insted of apologising for their error he tried to force us to accept the fish as a take away. This restaurant hotel clearly is not run or overseen by the owners and has very slack / dispassionate management because when we said we intended to leave a poor review based on our experience, he just shrugged his shoulder and said "go ahead"!. Eventually, after realising that the fault was down to his waitress not informing the kitchen of the cancellation in a timely manner, he said he will not charge us for the cancelled item because "he would just eat it himself". I have never seen such poor manners and bad service combined with mediocre food anywhere else in Cape Town.

    From the welcome to the ambience to the delicious food and the excellent service - a highly recommended dining experience . Try the Insalata Villa 47 for a great starter and Pancia di Maiale (Pork Belly) for main !!
