    Lovely cakes and pudding, except that the ice cream didn't work until we left. Service, I understand there were a lot of students, and they tried their best I cannot complain as they need the skill. Braai meat was oustanding, but limited. Traditional food complements to the chef I ate most of it. Juice, two jugs of orange and guava for a family of six was a good choice, and it was lovely. I loved the age of the hotel and furniture it kept its original form. Yes, I will come back again with my family next time.

    Not much dish options available. Some were very tasty and some wasn't unfortunately. The deserts cakes were dry and stir fry could have some kind of sauce to add flavour and with some protein.

    Hi was meant to complain abt the food I do understand this is a value for money buffet so we thought we will try it But the chicken breyabi was cold The roasted potatoes were cold The salads were old I knw this cos I do catering as well The chefs don't knw how to make prawns taste The prawn size is perfect but no taste .. they need to add peri peri spice to grill the prawn absolutely tasteless The calamari all stringing not cleaned also most of the prawns still had the veins.. The stir fry no spice or soy sauce added they dnt knw how to make I asked for sauce they sed no dnt do.. also the beg must be washed the mushrooms stil had sand in it I guess the market u guys are serving is the lower market its a pity cos u have everyhig goin but chefs terrible taste of food needs to spices up Maybe send one of then to elangenu and see how those chefs av a live station the spices and taste they add Salads were salad No top up done very little Only thing we enjoyed was the ice cream amd cake Unfortunately will not recommend Please add flavour to ur food

We are sincerely sorry to hear that your experience at our Friday Surf & Dine Buffet did not meet your expectations. While we do position this as a value-for-money offering, that should never compromise on food quality, freshness, temperature, or flavour. Your comments regarding the cold chicken breyani and roasted potatoes, the freshness of the salads, and the lack of flavour in the prawns and stir fry are very concerning. Food should always be served at the correct temperature, properly seasoned, and prepared with care. We also take your remarks about the cleaning of the calamari, deveining of prawns, and unwashed mushrooms very seriously — these are basic preparation standards that must be upheld at all times. We are particularly disappointed to hear that you felt the food lacked flavour and attention to detail. That is certainly not the standard we aim to deliver. Your comparison to the live stations and flavour profiles at Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani is noted, and we agree that vibrant seasoning and well-executed live cooking stations can make a significant difference to the overall experience.
