For those seeking a fresh way to spend Sundays with great food and a vibrant setting, COY is introducing SunDAZE, a relaxed yet elevated Sunday dining experience designed to make the most of the last day of the weekend. Launching on 18 May 2025, SunDAZE blends laid-back elegance, generous shared plates, and live music to help you reset before the week begins.
Meet the culinary minds behind the dishes
The brains behind this unique dining experience are COY head chefs Teenola Govender and Geoffrey Abrahams. The duo have crafted a menu rooted in local, seasonal ingredients, offering something fresh and exciting. With a mix of old-school favourites and bold new dishes it’s the perfect combo for those looking to try something different while still enjoying the comfort of familiar flavours.
“With SunDAZE, we wanted to create something relaxed but still considered – a meal made for chefs, families, and anyone needing a proper Sunday reset. It’s thoughtful food in good company, without overthinking it.” – Chef Teenola and Chef Geoffrey.
What’s on the menu?
The set menu is all about sharing with no substitutions – but each dish works beautifully with the next. It’s focused on seasonal flavours, with each ingredient holding an element of fire.
For R490 per person, guests can expect small bites like marinated olives, roasted tomatoes, and amagwinya brioche with smoked sirloin, capers, dill, and bramble currant. While the lighter options include diablo flatbreads with house-made hummus or a salad of chargrilled courgettes, radicchio, and Foxenburg Crottin.
Mains feature whole roasted fish with ras el hanout, charred limes, and sumac onions – smoky, zesty, and cooked just right. For dessert, a 64% Manjari crémeux with toasted vanilla ice cream and scorched meringue brings the meal to a perfect close.
The SunDAZE experience
For anyone who enjoys good food, good company, and a setting that feels like a mini holiday, SunDAZE at COY is set to deliver. It’s more than just a set menu – it’s an experience grounded in connection, comfort, and creativity. From fire-inspired dishes to the scenic backdrop of the V&A Waterfront, every detail adds up to something special.
As winners of the Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant VISI Style Award, COY has fast become one of Cape Town’s most sought-out dining destinations – and SunDAZE is just one more reason to visit.
Whether guests are regulars on the dining scene or simply looking to end the weekend on a high note, this is a reminder to clear the calendar and let COY take care of the rest.
