Situated in the heart of Cape Town’s city centre and set in a charming urban winery, Bouchon Wine Bar & Bistro is a meeting place for like-minded people who love flavoursome, down-to-earth food and are curious about the world of wine.

Behind this venture is winemaker Christophe Durand of Dorrance Wines and restaurateur Faisal Khakoo of La Boheme Bistro & Wine Bar and Engruna Eatery, who saw the gap for a sophisticated yet relaxed food and wine experience that compliments the enchanting winery setting.

Bouchon’s winelist embraces both local and international gems and is accompanied by a weekly ‘Travel Through Your Glass’ selection which allows you the opportunity to discover and enjoy spectacular wines from around the world by the glass.

Complementing the wine offering is a weekly menu that boasts uncomplicated seasonal tapas and scrumptious desserts.

    Food was good though some dishes were more salty than usual e.g. the risotto and the squid. Service could be better. Had to constantly flag down our waitress without any proactive check-ins from her. Ambiance is always wonderful. Lovely warm and cozy vibe.

    One of the best all round dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Casual but classy. Perfectly paced. Just worth noting that if you booking for 2 people, seating options are not very private, so be open to meeting new friends. 🙂

    We would like to thank everyone involved in making last evening, 9th Oct 2025 a wonderful experience. It was my beloved Aunts 87th birthday and our waitress treated us with such professionalism and kindness. She was a joy. A great effort was made to make Jenny feel very special.     Our waiter was really impressive, a young Zimbabwean man, I’m afraid I forget his name. The only complaint was the uncomfortable chairs (we were seated in the cellar, at the table closest to the tasting room). Apart from that our evening was especially good, thank you!

    Tapas are always amazing and food is spot on delicious. We go there often and they never fail on their food or service level. Really one of the best tapas Resturant out there and affordable.

    Delicious food. Portion sizes absolutely spot on. Excellent service. Cool but unpretentious vibe, If we lived in Cape Town we’d visit all the time. Sadly, we can’t just pop over from UK but shall recommend to friends etc who visit. Thank you!
